Easter Egg Hunt at Westport House  April 5   Westport

Westport House hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday April 5th in the gorgeous grounds of Westport House & Gardens. To celebrate the holiday the first 300 children to complete the hunt will receive a complimentary egg. Every family that finishes will be entered to win some great prizes being awarded at 5:30pm.

The Elverys Sports Connemara International Marathon is a day of racing around a very scenic part of the West of Ireland.  Comprising of a Half Marathon, a Full Marathon and a 39.3 mile Ultra Marathon all taking place on the one day April.

Connemara Mussel Festival      May 1 – May 3   Renvyle Peninsula, Co. Galway

The Connemara Mussel Festival is a celebration of Killary mussels which takes place every May Bank Holiday Weekend.

The festival includes mussel cooking demonstrations and competitions, music, fun, children’s activities, drama, heritage walks, a country market and lots of craic.

Wild Atlantic Way Charity Cycle  May 8 – May 22  Westport WAW

The Wild Atlantic Way Charity Cycle Challenge 2015 May 8th – May 22nd, 2015 Launched on Friday 13th February in Westport by Michael Ring TD Supporting The Irish Cancer Society and Western Care Association. The Irish Cancer Society and Western Care Association are organising a Charity Cycle Challenge along the route of the Wild Atlantic Way, commencing in Kinsale on Friday, May 8th and travelling up the west cost over the following two weeks to finish in Derry on Friday.

Achill Seafood Festival      July 17 – July 19   Achill

Féile na Mara is a culinary celebration of Achill’s rich heritage with the sea and it showcases the bountiful harvest of the Atlantic Ocean. Events include cookery demonstrations, seaweed safaris, fish markets, seafood BBQs and a family sandcastle competition. Local (and guest) talent includes Cailín agus Buachaill Óg contests.

Giro de Baile an Chaisil  August 2  Ballycastle

Hosted by Baile and Chaisil Cycling Club the Giro follows a wonderfully scenic course from Ballycastle Village right along the North Mayo Coast cycling right into the heart of Erris.
